There are 21 Residential Franchise Systems where residential services (no business services) are provided by private companies contracted with DPW. It also includes portions of Belvedere Gardens, East L.A., East Rancho Dominguez, East Compton, City Terrace, Florence, Graham, Laderea Heights, Lennox, Malibu, View Park, Walnut Park, West Athens, West Fox Hills, Westmont, Willowbrook and Windsor Hills. There are seven Garbage Disposal Districts where residential and commercial services are provided by private companies contracted by DPW. Geographic restrictions apply please see details below. Services include illegal dumping reporting, large item trash/garbage pickup and trash/garbage pickup. The Department of Public Works (DWP) provides sanitation services for residents of unincorporated Los Angeles county and portions of certain cities, through four different waste management systems.
